About the Historic Red Banks Primitive Baptist Church
Project
In May of 2000, the Red Banks Primitive Baptist Church was deeded to the Pitt County Historical Society, Inc., by the five surviving members of the congregation: Alma Hardee Davis, Eula Lee Mills Fornes, Claude Alton Fornes, Clarice Wood Mills, and Howard Franklin Mills. Since then, the Society has replaced the tin roof with wooden shingles and replaced the exterior louvered shutters. The building is currently being used for Society meetings, weddings, concerts and other special events.
